Smart Horizons Career Online Education (SHCOE) is pleased to announce a newly structured payment option for students enrolling in SHCOE’s online high school program.
In order to make its online diploma and certificate programs more accessible to students, SHCOE has eliminated the down payment. Students can now pay their tuition by making $77 monthly payments through the course of the program (18 months), for a total tuition amount of $1386.
Previously, students opting for a payment plan paid an initial $189 at the time of enrolling (followed by 18 monthly payments of $67). Students will still have the option of paying their tuition through a one-time, up-front tuition payment of $1,295. “One of the biggest challenges facing our student population is financial,” said Kevin Koch, SHCOE’s Vice President for Enrollment Management. “We removed the down payment in order to eliminate what could potentially present an economic barrier for some students. Our high school programs are now even more accessible to students who no longer have to worry about coming up with the down payment to get started.”
SHCOE is the world’s first AdvancED/SACS accredited online school district that enables students to earn a career-credentialed certificate at the same time they earn their high school diploma.
“We feel confident that this new payment option will open the door for students who might not otherwise be able to take advantage of SHCOE’s program,” said Koch. “SHCOE is committed to ensuring its programs are accessible and affordable to its prospective student population.”
