Smart Horizons Career Online Education (SHCOE) has hired lobbyist Chip Case to work with Florida legislators in furthering career online education interests during the 2011 Legislative Session. Chip Case, based in Tallahassee, will track existing and advocate for new legislation as it moves through the House and Senate.
Case brings excellent credentials to his new position, having previously served as Chief of Staff for the House Campaigns for the Republican Party of Florida and as Deputy Chief of Staff for former Florida House Speaker Allan Bense.
“I believe Mr. Case will be instrumental in bringing about policy changes at the state level that will re-incentivize school districts to reach out to adult drop-outs and bring them back into the education system,” said Dr. Howard Liebman, SHCOE CEO and Superintendent. “There are millions of high school drop-outs in Florida and SHCOE is committed to doing all we can to assist these individuals in earning their high school diplomas, receiving a career certificate to enter the workforce, and possibly continuing their education at the post-secondary level.”
“SHCOE offers a nationally accredited high school diploma paired with a career certificate and I believe their innovative career training program is a great help to people seeking to better their lives,” Case said. Due to Governor Scott’s emphasis on statewide job growth and economic development, as evidenced in his ‘7-7-7 Plan,’ SHCOE’s online career education model comes at the perfect time. I look forward to representing them in Tallahassee. This is going to have an impact on millions of adults throughout the state of Florida and the United States.”
